Senior Ministry of Agriculture, BMC and Department of Veterinary Services officials were in Paris this week where they used the annual World Organisation of Animal Health (OIE) conference to negotiate Botswana's re-entry into the EU and open up new markets.

Scheduled to end today, the OIE conference brought together nearly 200 countries and international organisations, providing the perfect platform for Botswana's technocrats to market the country's beef to alternative destinations.

Leading the Botswana charge in Paris are the Director of the Department of Veterinary Services Kgosietsile Philemon-Motsu, BMC CEO David Falepau, and the Deputy Permanent Secretary at Agriculture (Livestock Services) Moetapele Letshwenyo.
