Govt introduces innovative trade regime

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has started to implement new trade regulations under which indefinite licences are being introduced.

The new regulations became effective on September 2. Changes include the removal of boutique and miscellaneous licences while agents, amusement arcades, gymnasiums, florists and pharmacies or chemists are introduced.

Licences for agents, florists, internet cafs and copy shops are among those that are reserved for citizens. In a press statement, the Ministry of Trade and Industry says measures have been put in place to address challenges faced by people whose licences have been removed from the new regulations.
