Govt expects 300MW from Morupule B by July

The Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources expects to have 300 megawatts (MW) from the Morupule B power station feeding into the national grid by July, erasing the withdrawal of Eskom's supplies this year.

Yesterday, the ministry's permanent secretary, Boikobo Paya said commissioning and testing activities were continuing on the first two units of the power station, with the expectation that these will feed into the national grid by end of June or early July.
