PALAPYE: Small business owners have been urged to draft proposals required for them to benefit from the Top 50 Small & Medium Business Opportunities, a new government initiative that helps small businesses with capital goods for new projects.

Speaking at a meeting organised by Office of the President, Principal Poverty Eradication Officer, Seno Mokhondo said the initiative, which is headed by the Minister of Presidential Affairs & Public Administration Eric Molale is meant to diversify the economy.

“We have realised that as Batswana we are very fond of overcrowding in one form of business which does not create a competitive environment. For instance, under poverty eradication scheme most beneficiaries are either into catering, poultry or bakery,” Mokhondo said.
