Government has extended Diaval Limited contract as their preferred Diamond valuer by a further three years, while the market is still in the dark about the outcome of last year's sales agreement negotiations between government and De Beers.

The ministry last extended the company's tender 18 months ago when it submitted a US$9.5 million (P65 million) tender to the PPADB which was approved in June 2009 translating to a fee of P3.6 million a month, a figure that has been labelled too pricey by industry watchers.
