Global expo is an effective marketing platform - Minister :: Mmegi Online

The Global Expo is one of several initiatives of government to attract foreign and domestic investors as well as to diversify the economy, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Vincent Seretse, said when he performed the official opening of this year's edition of the show.

"Global Expo attracts Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Botswana, hence it contributes to economic diversification of Botswana," Seretse said at Boipuso hall in Gaborone last Wednesday.

"Its purpose is also to stimulate local entrepreneurs to [try] new business ideas through the assistance of the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) and local development financial institutions such as National Development Bank (NDB), Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) and Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency as well as local commercial banks.
