Fuel Price Increase Likely In 2008

The beginning of 2007 saw inflation fall from 8.5 percent in December 2006 to 7.4 percent in January 2007.

During the first quarter, inflation continued with the downward trend and closed the three-month period at 6.5 percent. 

The falling trend continued into the second quarter of the year as it stood at 6.3 percent in April before rising marginally to 6.4 percent at the close of the quarter.
