Forum to bond SADC-EU business and political leaders

An independent private sector body created to establish a new kind dialogue between business communities and the political leadership in Europe and southern Africa has been formed.

Infact, the new body - named the Business Trade Forum EU-Southern Africa (BTFES) - has already met in Gaborone in parallel to the recent Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) negotiations.

The BTFES considers the establishment of the EPA between the EU and SADC as a key priority and would like to bring the input and expertise of the private sector to help address the challenges confronting these negotiations, future trade relations and the development of business between the two regions, says a statement on the creation of BTFES.
