Food, Fuel Continue To Drive Inflation Up

With inflation for January at 8.4 percent, an Investec analyst has given a gloomy outlook for the future.

Following publication of monthly data by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), Maungo Lebanna says she sees inflation hitting the 9 percent mark in the near future.

"Our inflation forecast remains gloomy," Lebanna says. "We are close to seeing inflation peak at 9 percent in a month or two on the back of high food and fuel prices."
