FNBB to unveil more innovative products

First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB) will increase their ATMs to 130, open a new branch in Ghanzi and unveil more new innovative products this year as they seek to further boost their visibility and market share.

The bank, which has, through its production diversification and innovativeness, grown to be the largest bank in the country, is seeking to expand its presence not through brick and mortar infrastructure but more vigorously through innovative, new technologybased products. Following the recent resurgence of upside risks associated with interest income due to defaultment and central bank's monetary policy, FNBB last year re-directed its efforts towards growing its retail banking and invested heavily towards penetrating that market.

In an interview with Mmegi last week, the Head of Distribution and Retail Banking, Martin Knollys, said the bank strategy is to expand their efficiencies across the country and reach the unbanked and underbanked in line with the strategy of trying to capture more customers in a bid to boost non-interest income through higher volume transactions.
