Firestone in debut trade on BSE

Two thousand shares changed hands on the BSE yesterday when Firestone Diamonds shares began trading on the Botswana Stock Exchange at P3.35 per share.

The listing of the diamond junior, which operates the BK11 Mine in the Boteti sub-district and holds exploration licences in several parts of the country, should have taken place at the beginning the year but was delayed as the company pushed to meet some of BSE's regulatory demands for a dual listing.

Firestone, which is already quoted on London's AIM, traded at 31.5 pence by mid-day yesterday.  Comments Philip Kenny, Chairman of Firestone Diamonds: "Firestone Diamonds is currently the only company selling diamonds by tender in Botswana, both from the BK11 Mine in Botswana and the Liqhobong Mine in Lesotho.
