Firestone braces for better, bigger second tender

Firestone Diamonds plans to hold its second tender of the year at the Diamond Technology Park at the end of this month, which will be significantly higher than the first one held in April.

In a corporate and operations update the company, which owns the BK11 Mine in the Boteti region, says that although diamond liberation has been lower than expected at BK11 due to problems encountered with the crushing and scrubbing circuits, mining operations are now ahead of plan.

"Approximately two million tonnes of overburden and kimberlite have been mined between January and April 2011 at BK11.
