Extreme heat wilts crops at Talana Farms

The managing director of the farms that hug the banks of the Limpopo River, Jan Willemse, said in an interview last week that the heat had affected especially tomatoes, forcing them to harvest them early.
Willemse said harvesting the tomatoes early meant that they were still small in size. He said the heat was accompanied by massive swarms of voracious insects.
