Exploration work commences in earnest at TNMC

FRANCISTOWN: The Acting Manager of Tati Nickel Mining Company (TNMC), Bogdan Kuzhel, says the Botswana Government has issued the nickel-mining giant with licences for further exploration in existing areas.

Speaking through an interpreter at a press briefing held in the boardroom of the company on Wednesday, the Russian-born Kuzhel emphasised that the exploration work had commenced in earnest and would be complemented by feasibility studies to determine the profitability of the mine.

Kuzhel said at the launch of TNMC's strategic plan next July, "it will give us a clearer picture of how we are going to develop the mine with a target of up to 2020, which is the estimated lifespan of the mine".
