Discovery bullish about finding another Boseto

BSE-listed Discovery Metals recorded a loss of P17 million ($2.5 million) for the financial year ended 30 June 2011, financials that the company says reflect progress that is being made at its flagship Boseto Copper project in Maun.

In a statement, Managing Director Brad Sampson says as expected for companies at this stage of development, the company suffered a loss for the year, reflecting expensing of costs not capitalised in exploration and construction assets. Discovery's Boseto copper mine is currently under construction and is scheduled for commissioning in the first half of next year.

"Discovery Metals continues to advance systematically towards its goal of commissioning the Boseto Copper Project in the first half of 2012 and to the potential discovery of another Boseto style project on the Kalahari Copper Belt within the next two years," says Sampson.
