South African pharmaceutical giant, Dischem opened doors to their first store in Botswana, at Airport Junction on Friday. Established by pharmacist husband and wife, Ivan and Lynnet Saltzman in Mondeo Johannesburg in 1978, Dischem has 151 branches in South Africa, four in Namibia and has now established in Botswana with the Airport Junction mall branch.

Regional Manager, James Benadie said they were confident of the new market they have just entered into, with only Clicks to compete with.

“We are excited. We did market research and the malls here are a mirror image of South African malls. This is a big opportunity of untapped market,” said Benadie.
