Debswana Proposes Special Forum For Mining Houses

FRANCISTOWN: Debswana is planning to engage other mining companies with the idea of establishing a 'Mining Sector Business Forum' to complement Government's efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), a workshop heard here last Thursday.

The mining giant's Business Development Manager Joseph Ramotshabi said the idea was still at a conception stage in his department, but the objective would be to form a local supply base.

Ramotshabi was speaking at a one-day workshop on joint ventures organised by the Botswana Export and Manufacturers Association (BEMA) at Thapama Lodge.
