The General Manager of Debswana's Orapa-Letlhakane Mines, Sebetela Sebetela, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a P375 000 community project in Lentsweletau last Saturday.

The project includes a multi-purpose hall which will be partitioned into exhibition stalls for the annual Kweneng North Agricultural Show.  Office space will also be available for rental.

Says Ben Mogapi, a community leader who sits on the show's organising committee: "It will be more like Boipuso Hall in Gaborone. There will be office space for companies wishing to operate from here; our village is not far from the big city, afterall". The hall will also be available for conferences and weddings. "Mind you, Lentsweletau  is headquarters of the Lentsweletau  parliamentary constituency. The multi-purpose hall could be hired out during elections to serve as a central place for the counting of ballot boxes and their contents instead of primary schools scattered all over the constituency."
