Damtshaa comes back to life

Debswana's smallest mine, Damtshaa, could bounce back to full production before year end, following a three-year shutdown stemming from the onset of the global recession and its adverse effects on the diamond industry.

Teams of Debswana staffers and contractors are presently dusting the cobwebs off Damtshaa's various components with a view to ensuring the mine is fully rumbling and integrated into the other three mines in the New Year.

According to Orapa Weekly, Debswana's in-house publication, contractors and in-house teams have worked continuously throughout the year, bringing critical components of the mine back to life.
