Council in pressure to recoup 'lost' imprest

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The municipality here is trying to recover imprest amounting to P40, 000 erroneously availed to former council employees and a part of full salaries paid to officers who should have paid half salaries, it has come to light in an audit report.

The developments have brought into sharp relief the internal controls of the Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC).

But SPTC has managed to recover P52, 672.47 in imprest erroneously availed to its employees, including town clerks.
