Competition Authority investigates 39 cases

FRANCISTOWN: The Competition Authority (CA) has not unearthed any malpractices in its investigated so far. CA boss, Thula Kaira made the disclosure on Tuesday in Francistown during a stakeholders' seminar.

"In all the cases we have investigated and completed, the companies or individuals we have dealt with have abided with our order. We have also not had any individual or company challenging our decisions in a court of law," Kaira said. He said firms only attract fines when they do not abide by the orders from the CA.

Although he would not divulge all the cases that the CA has dealt with since its inception, he said that the authority has recorded 39 cases since April this year.
