Company Launches New Road Construction Products

Four new road construction products will be launched in Gaborone this week says Katz Holdings. A statement from the Gaborone-based construction company says the products are from PowerCem Technologies of Holland.

The products are Immocem, RoadCem, ConcreCem and NucliCem. ImmoCem is traditionally used to immobilise ground contamination in construction. RoadCem converts natural soil into hard soil in road construction. It has been successfully used by Shell Canada to convert natural soil into hard bearing foundation layer for their oil rigs on the Canadian oil bearing sand soils. "The use of ConcreCem in concrete constructions will increase the safety factor while using less basic materials, for example, fireproof tunnels," said Katz Holdings spokesperson Dolly Mmereki in a communique.

She added that PowerCem Technolgies products are relatively new in Africa. She explained that Arcadis, a consulting engineering company has joined forces with PowerCem Technologies to promote PowerCem products globally. Research is being conducted to determine the properties and possible applications of the products.
