Businesses called on to adapt as BITC launches Green Mark

The Green Mark, launched by the government’s investment promotion agency, provides businesses across sectors with an opportunity to showcase their sustainability efforts. It also aims to strengthen the competitiveness of these enterprises and position them to respond to growing global demand for responsible business practices. BITC CEO, Keletsositse Olebile, said the initiative represents a broader national commitment to building a sustainable economy.
“The Green Mark is more than an environmental recognition programme; it is a national commitment to building a more sustainable economy. “It reflects Botswana’s vision of creating businesses that are not only competitive and profitable but also environmentally responsible and future-focused,” he added. Olebile called on local businesses to adapt as global markets increasingly placed emphasis on sustainability. “As global markets continue to prioritise sustainability, Botswana must ensure that its businesses remain competitive by embracing responsible production, resource efficiency and sound environmental governance,” he said.
