BURS Encourages Further Training In The Workplace

FRANCISTOWN: Companies that provide their employees with work-based training will soon get back double the expense they incurred in that regard, said Lydia Magama during the BOCCIM Northern Trade Fair breakfast meeting in Francistown last Friday.

"Companies should hire Batswana graduates and train them so that they can receive double what they spend training (these) graduates," Magama said.

"These costs could be even book fees, examination fees and classrooms that the company establishes to train employees through apprenticeship and internship."
Magama is the Manager of the Internal Revenue Division of the Botswana Unified Revenue Services (BURS).
