BURS [Botswana Unified Revenue Services] and Botswana Railways (BR) are engaged in a dispute involving the ownership of a prime plot of land in Gaborone on which the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB) currently sits.

The plot of land and developments are valued at more than P6 million and represent key assets, being situated within the commercially significant Gaborone West Industrial area.

The disagreement, which dates back to the early 2000s and the defunct Department of Customs and Excise (DCE), involves the ownership of the plot. Several meetings between the two parties have been held over the years to resolve the matter.
