BR stokes MPs' rage

Enraged legislators in the Committee on Statutory Bodies and State Enterprise this morning dismissed the appearance of Botswana Railways after the rail utility failed to send its CEO, Leonard Makwinja to officially show up.

In Makwinja’s place were chief finance officer, Chilesele Malele and business development director, Steven Makute.  Makwinja was said to be attending a conference in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The committee sits every year to examine the books of state-owned entities, who are required to be represented by their heads.
