Botswana's Macro-economic Instability Is Knotty

The just released 2007 report of the World Bank Group for the African Region's Private Sector Unit says Botswana's investment climate has a reputation for excellent microeconomic management, modest inflation, and extremely rapid growth.

The report revealed that firms complain little about many areas of the investment climate such as regulation and infrastructure, and that objective indicators usually confirm that Botswana compares favourably with other middle income economies in these respects.

Although firms have concerns in other areas such as corruption, taxation, and macroeconomic instability, the report says Botswana often compares favourably with other SACU economies and high performing middle income economies in these areas as well.
