Botswana to host Africa innovation awards

Botswana will host the 2016 Innovative Prize for Africa (IPA) awards that are organised by the African Innovation Foundation. Established in 2011, the awards are slated for June in Gaborone and will be held under the theme “Made In Africa”.

At a press conference in Gaborone yesterday, Director, Innovation Prize for Africa at African Innovation Foundation, Pauline Koebl said Botswana has shown commitment towards building its national innovation ecosystem.

“There were four countries who had bid to host the IPA awards and had to go through a rigorous selection process. Botswana became the eventual winners to host the fifth awards,” she said.
