Botswana takes over SACU chairship

The Southern African Customs Union (SACU) Secretariat delegation paid a visit to the incoming Chair of SACU, Botswana, from 10 to 11 July 2007.

The purpose of the Secretariat visit to Botswana was to brief the incoming Chair on matters and issues that are currently on SACU's agenda, and to discuss envisaged priority and strategic focus areas during Botswana's tenure as the chair of SACU.
Botswana will assume the chairmanship of SACU with effect from 15 July 2007.
The SACU Secretariat delegation was led by the Executive Secretary, Tswelopele Moremi.

She was accompanied by the Director - Trade Facilitation and Revenue Management-  Dumisani Mahlinza, the Director - Policy Development and Research - Anton Faul, the Deputy Director - Policy Development - Mihe Gaomab II and the Communication Manager, Shungu Malikongwa.
