Botswana is no.7 for women in senior positions

Botswana is the top 10 in the league of nations with women in senior managerial positions, a survey by Grant Thornton shows.

The 2011 Grant Thornton International Business Report (IBR) ranks Botswana at position seven on the league table for women in senior positions and shows a seven percent increase - from 25 percent in 2009 to 32 percent in 2010. Comments Jay Ramesh, the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton in Botswana: "It's good to find that the percentage of women in senior positions has increased in Botswana from the 2010 survey report. The contributing factor has been the 'Tone at the Top' to place women in leadership positions."

Ramesh says Grant Thornton in Botswana has a woman partner and two women directors. The woman partner is Anju Suresh. "When leadership positions are inclusive of both men and women, businesses thrive," she says.
