Botswana firms perform well in rankings

HARARE: Botswana companies last year dominated the Southern Africa list of 50 best performing public-listed companies.

In the survey, conducted by the influential pan-African magazine, African Business, Botswana companies occupy the top four positions in the region.

African Business conducts the survey every year and lists the best-performing companies in terms of market capitalisation, outside the continent's biggest economy, South Africa.
First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB), with a market capitalisation of US$1, 1 billion, is in the number one spot. FNBB is followed by Barclays Bank of Botswana, Standard Chartered Bank Botswana and Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited.
