BOTEC, RIPCO merger to be completed by July

The process to merge Botswana Technology Centre (BOTEC) and Rural Industries Promotions Company Botswana (RIPCO - B) has started and is expected to end in July, the Monitor has established.

The BOTEC/RIPCO merger came about as a result of a Cabinet directive, CAB 37(B)/2009, to bring together identified existing synergies between the two entities and prevent their overlapping of mandates and client base.

RIPCO aims to promote industrial development and techno-preneurship through research, while BOTEC is a research and technology organisation.
