Boseto signs contracts to protect copper prices

Promoters of the Boseto Mine project in Maun, Discovery Metals, have moved to secure future revenues from the copper and silver mine by entering into hedge contracts with three banks that recently extended a debt facility to the mining company.

Boseto is currently under construction and is scheduled for commissioning in the first half of 2012.

The hedge contracts are meant to cushion the mining company's revenues against fluctuations in international commodity prices of copper and silver as the company seeks to repay its recently acquired $180 million (P1.2 billion) debt finance within the agreed time limits.
