BOCCIM hosts us business delegation

The Botswana Confederation of Commerce Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM), hosted a visiting multi-sectoral delegation of the American National Black Chamber of Commerce at the Big Five Lodge in Mogoditshane last week.

The aim of the conference was to facilitate opportunities for potential partnerships, investments, joint ventures, networking and establishing contacts between members of BOCCIM and American businesses. Speaking at the conference, BOCCIM president, Alex Monchusi, said BOCCIM believes that a strong dynamic private sector is crucial for long-term sustainability and economic growth.

"Over-dependence on government and our depleting mineral resources has to subside and diversification driven with full force," Mochusi said."However, at times it becomes difficult for businesses to think beyond our borders as they have been accustomed to doing business in a certain way and the resistance becomes part and parcel of change."
