BoBs develops international quality standards

Botswana has developed over 700 standards based on ISO standards with specifications acceptable in other markets. The standards are used in the areas of Testing, Certification, Calibration and Training Services at Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS).

They were developed in a quest to attain international standards, Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry, Duke Lefhoko, said on Monday. He was speaking at a function graced by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) secretary general, Rob Steele.

He said that given the radical nature of business in a global world, high quality goods and services could only be manufactured through adopting and adapting acceptable production practices.
