BHC Targets Low-income Market

The Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) is poised to introduce a new housing purchase scheme to tap into the low-income market, Lands and Housing Minister Ramadeluka Seretse has said.

He asserted that the market is not currently attractive to financial institutions and the new scheme will for the first time target home buyers aged between 18-45 years. The scheme is open to all citizens.

Presenting budget estimates for his ministry this week, Seretse said the BHC intends to introduce a new instalment scheme after the termination of the suspended Tenant Purchase Scheme.
