BEDIA Launches Botswana Brand In F/town

FRANCISTOWN: Still struggling to get the widely criticised Botswana brand accepted, Botswana Entrepreneur Development and Investment Authority (BEDIA) has finally launched the brand in Francistown, nine months after it was launched in Gaborone.

Since the unveiling of the brand in Gaborone in December, many have dismissed it as too complicated and irrelevant to Botswana. BEDIA hosted the Francistown launch over the weekend at the Marang Hotel on the theme, "The Brand Rationale".

BEDIA's chief executive officer (CEO) Dorcas Makgato-Malesu said Botswana needed to brand itself because it did not stand out as a well-known country worldwide and branding it as a nation would make a huge difference.
