BDC unveils healthy profits

The government's investment arm, the Botswana Development Corporation (BDC), continues to record healthy profits.

Launching the company's financial report, BDC Managing Director revealed that the parastatal recorded a profit before tax of P227 million for the financial  year ended 30 June, 2010 while turnover improved by 14 percent from P134 to P153 million.

Maria Nthebolan said dividend income from subsidiaries and associates increased by 20 percent from P108million to P129 million. The corporation acquired additional equity investment of P53 million during the year under review.
