BCL Mine generates much needed income

SELEBI-PHIKWE:Despite contributing insignificantly to the national revenue in the form of tax, BCL Mine has accorded Batswana much needed income earning opportunities, the Assistant Minister of Local Government has said.

Officially launching council projects here last week, Lebonaamang Mokalake said Selebi-Phikwe had evolved into one of the most attractive urban centres in the country in that way and that in order to maintain the momentum, the government continued to invest in public facilities in all emerging towns.

The minister noted that the provision of roads infrastructure, as well as of education, health and recreational facilities was one of the core functions of the District Councils Act.
