Barclays to open more branches

FRANCISTOWN: Barclays Bank of Botswana plans to widen its network in the country by opening more branches in Masunga, Tutume, Ramotswa and Tlokweng this year.

The bank's head of Small, Medium Enterprises Sabrina Mahlalela explained that the move is meant to spread Barclays' footprints in Botswana. She was speaking at a Barclays tax seminar in Palapye this week.

She said tax is a generator of government revenue and that is why they want to give their customers an understanding of tax issues. She added that the seminars give business customers a full understanding of what compliance or none compliance means to their business. The seminar focused on VAT.
