Barclays Increases Amount Available From ATMs

Botswana's biggest bank Barclays on Friday announced it had increased the maximum amount of cash for withdrawal at its ATMs from P2 000 to P4 000 per customer per day.

"The new limits mean that customers will benefit from (an) improved service in terms of convenience (and) reduction of queues in banking halls," the bank's head of Corporate Affairs Esther Norris said in a statement released late Friday.

The increased withdrawal amounts were put into effect immediately. However, since ATMs can only dispense a maximum of twenty Pl00 notes at a time, Norris has advised customers wishing to withdraw more than P2 000 to make two transactions.
