Barclays at loggerheads with Sales Agents

FRANCISTOWN: Direct Sales Agents (DSAs) engaged by Barclays Bank of Botswana earlier this year to improve customer service and bring in more clients are accusing the bank of exploitation.

The agents are complaining that their employer is taking advantage of them in a number of issues, which include low payments and inappropriate taxation. Some of them claim that at one time they received as little as 26 thebe in commission, which was deposited into their bank accounts. 

One DSA who preferred anonymity said their salaries are nowhere near what was agreed at the time of their engagement.
