Bank CEO calls for financial training in schools

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The CEO of Stanbic Bank Botswana, Leina Gabaraane, has urged Batswana to shun excessive borrowing and adopt a culture of saving.

Speaking on Saturday at Makhubu Community Junior Secondary School where he was the guest speaker at the school's prize giving ceremony, Gabaraane said Batswana just didn't know when they had borrowed enough did not understand the importance of investing and saving for the future.

As a result, Botswana has one of the lowest savings per household and the highest debts per household rates in the world.
