Air Botswana beats IATA e-booking deadline

Got your ticket? Air Botswana passengers no longer need to worry about that question because the national airline's electronic ticketing system is fully operational.Infact, there is no longer a ticket as tickets are known.

The 'booklet' has been replaced by a 'virtual' ticket in the form of a computer entry when a flight booking is made. The new system speeds up the ticketing process, making it convenient and secure for the passenger who simply presents personal identification on arrival at the airport check-in.

"It has been a learning process for us all, but we did it," says Dikeme Radikgomo, project coordinator on the Air Botswana e-ticketing team.He says about 70 percent of passengers booked on the airline from many parts of the world are now e-ticketed.
