'Africans need change of mindset', says Microsoft lecturer

Africans need to disabuse themselves of the mindset of relying on outside help and start believing in themselves if they are to reach levels of development they aim at.


"If you do not have enough resources, re-think your plan so that it matches your resources," Diarra said. "If we could do that, I am sure that would open a lot of doors for us around the world because there is a lot of goodwill out there."

Already presented in Mali, France and Nigeria, the lecture at UB was part of a series of Microsoft Leadership Lectures that aim to help promote debate among Africa's youth about the future prosperity of the continent.
