Absa life launches in Botswana

Absa Financial Services, a subsidiary of the South African banking group, Absa group, launched Absa Life Botswana at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) last week.

The company will start operating in March. Absa Life Botswana will underwrite and distribute funeral and credit life products through Barclays Insurance Services (Pty), Ltd. As part of its strategic growth initiatives, Absa Life Botswana will be broadening its product offering through Barclays subsidiaries and other channels in the future.

"We saw an opportunity in Botswana for Absa Life to enter the market and provide a distinct service offering. Absa believes that our business has a market in the country.
