Audience wanted

A friend sent me an interesting story illustration she read this week. A father and his daughter were at a waiting room. The daughter was bored. The father had a magazine.

Inside the magazine was a picture of a world map. Thinking of a quick strategy to entertain his daughter and also provide an educational moment, the father ripped that page out of the magazine and tore it into pieces. He then asked the daughter to put the pieces back together thinking that would take her at least an hour. Within a few moments, the little girl had put the “puzzle” together. Shocked and in awe, he exclaimed, “How on earth did you do that so fast?” She smirked and responded, “It is simple. When you ripped out the page, I noticed a picture of a family on the other side. It was easy to put them back together and when I put the family back together, it meant I put the “world” back together. How profound I thought.

So many social ills that plague our nation stem from broken and unhealthy families. My husband and I are very passionate about the idea and hope that if we can play a small part in encouraging stronger healthier families, we can play a small part in “putting the world back together”. Last year, we put this dream into action when we produced Season one of our TV show, Talking with the Thabas. To produce Season One, each week we had a live studio audience. What a fun time we had interacting with hundreds of people through unscripted questions about various topics about marriage.
