Wonderful Fete de la Musique

It was an event not to be missed at Botswana Craft on Saturday as the Alliance Francaise hosted a "fete de la Musique" cultural festival in an attempt to promote cultural and linguistic diversity.

The place was packed with people who came from different walks of life to come witness the beauty Batswana artists had to offer. More than 52 local musicians of different genres and Djs showcased and the toast of the day was Afro-jazz sensation, Punah Gabasiane who blessed the audience with the songs Senonnori and her famous Iyoo Nna song.

The event's main focus was to allow both professional and amateur musicians to showcase their talent in live performances. Stampore Trio also gave a wonderful performance leaving the audience begging for more. Other artistes that gave beautiful performances include Kennedy Thal, Clement Jackson, Ntireleng Berman, Dj Usina, Masilo and friends, the newly started group Noise Markers on Parade, Kabo Leburu among others.But who can forget the beautiful marimba played by Thornhill primary school, the young stars also added colour to the show, playing beautiful melody such as Adele's Rolling in the Deep, Forever young, some house mix just to name a few.
Fete De la Musique is an international cultural event, which was initiated in France since 1982.The annual event  is celebrated worldwide in June.
