Where have all traditional music giants gone?

About 10 years ago, traditional music took the industry by storm as local groups began to record the genre with monotonous regularity.

Some of the groups that come to mind include Machesa, Dikakapa and Matsieng.  It was the emergence of some of these groups that made people recognise traditional music.  Machesa, which was initially under the Eric Ramco Record label, became the trendsetter following the release of their debut album in 2003.

But where are these groups or what happened to them?  Not much has been seen or heard from the once popular traditional groups for quite some time.  For those that are still in existence, they are no longer popular or pulling large crowds like they used to.
