WAR play leaves audience heavy-hearted

For many people who have never had rough experiences, women abuse may seem like a minor issue.

However, a Women Against Rape (WAR) play conveyed a different message and understanding to many people as it reflected the deep and dark feelings implicated by the heartless ill treatment of women worldwide. This stage act which was held at Maru-a-Pula School is a true-life story based on some of the actresses experiences.

It was an eye opener and comforter to women who gathered at the theatre.  WAR is a story of three women, Warona, Amantle and Refilwe who have been abused by men.  The story scenario takes place in the bedroom where the three women wearing nightwear, sat together to share the pain and despair that men had put them through.  They exchange their misery whilst they comfort and encourage each other to be strong.  Throughout the story there are tears, tension and hatred.  It shows how abuse creates a permanent wound that never heals and how it destroys many women and children.
